Students of Assiniboia Residential School published yearbooks in 1965, 1966, and 1967. The yearbooks were named Keewatin, which comes from Algonquian roots – either kiwehtin in Cree or giiwedin in Anishinaabemowin – both of which mean “north wind”.
These copies of the 1966 and 1967 yearbooks are from Elder Mabel Horton’s collection. Please contact the Legacy Group if you have an original copy of the 1965 Keewatin yearbook. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to digitally scan this yearbook for our archive.
